Q3 Update: A Trove of New Features!

Welcome to our end of quarter update! Before we get into the 622 tickets that we have closed this quarter, we wanted to take a moment to reflect...

We have long spoken about the trials and tribulations of building in public. In fact an analogy that we like to use involves something about refitting the jet mid flight - and this summer has certainly felt like this! Our development team have continued to work tirelessly to not only build and implement new features, but to fix a whole heap of bug fixes reported from users.

In addition to this, RoboShadow has certainly become the user-driven platform we had always envisioned it to be with so many of you providing feedback. We have also seen an influx of schools, charities and SMBs really enjoying the platform over the  summer which means that we are on the right track!

Terry has recorded a quick Loom video to run through the update here.

Q3 Update Overview

Now onto the juicy stuff... over the summer our development team have closed 622 tickets. We have on average been getting a release out every 2 weeks, and you can see from the chart below the breakdown of our top 10 ticket categories that have been closed, with huge updates to the AV Dashboard, the external scanner, ultimate report and many more!

You can find a full breakdown of the tickets closed here.

July: Kicking Off the Quarter with Momentum

July saw three major releases (163, 164, and 165), closing a total of 243 tickets as we addressed numerous features and improvements.

  • MAC Agent Vulnerability Report Went Live: One of the key highlights of July was the launch of the MAC Agent Vulnerability Report. This feature provided enhanced visibility for Mac users, allowing them to better assess and respond to potential security threats.

  • PSA Platforms Added: Halo, SYNCRO, and Atera Integrations: We expanded our integrations with popular PSA platforms, adding Halo, SYNCRO, and Atera to streamline workflows for our users. (Pssssst reminder just let us know if you need your PSA added, we are adding these on request!)

  • New Agent Rollout: A new, more efficient agent was rolled out, significantly improving the performance and reliability of our system.

  • Intune Rollout Feature Added: The Intune Rollout Feature allowed seamless deployment of our agent across managed devices, reducing the friction in getting up and running with RoboShadow.

  • Winget Decommissioned: We retired Winget in favor of our in-house technology, giving us more control and improving user experience.

  • LAN Scanner and External Scanner Speed Boost: Both scanners received substantial speed improvements, allowing for faster and more accurate assessments across networks.

August: Refining the Platform

August may have been quieter in terms of volume, Release 166 meant that 129 tickets were closed, but it was packed with strategic upgrades.

  • Cyber Benchmarks Report (Beta): We introduced the Cyber Benchmarks Report, giving organizations the ability to assess their cybersecurity posture against industry standards. Though still in beta, this report provided crucial insights for our users.

  • API Access (Beta): The API Access feature also entered beta, opening up the platform for deeper integrations and allowing users to pull data into their existing systems seamlessly.

  • New MFA Options, Including TOTP: Security enhancements were front and center with the release of new MFA options, including Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP), making it easier for users to implement strong authentication practices.

  • Scan Cancellation Feature: Users gained the ability to cancel scans, providing more flexibility and control during the assessment process.

  • Cyber Heal Accuracy Update: A massive 22% accuracy improvement was introduced for Cyber Heal, our AI-powered vulnerability remediation tool, making it even more effective at closing security gaps.

September: Closing Q3 with a Bang

September brought the final sprint of Q3 with three releases (167, 168, and 169), which closed 251 tickets and delivered some of our most significant platform upgrades.

  • Ultimate Report Upgrades: We rolled out major enhancements to our reporting capabilities, improving clarity and making it easier for users to extract actionable insights from their security data.

  • External Scanner Upgrade: Another round of speed and accuracy upgrades for the External Scanner ensured even faster and more reliable scans, further boosting the performance of the platform.

  • API and Integration Enhancements: We continued improving the API and integrations, making it easier for users to connect RoboShadow with their existing security tools.

  • New PSA Integrations: N-Able and ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus: We expanded our PSA integrations further by adding support for N-Able and ManageEnginePlus, giving users even more options for streamlining their security workflows.

  • PSA Settings Enhancements: We introduced new settings, including the ability to set a minimum vulnerability score threshold and enable MSP configurations for certain PSAs, offering greater flexibility in managing vulnerabilities.

  • Cyber Heal Refinements: With an additional 10% accuracy improvement for Cyber Heal, users now have an even more powerful tool for automating vulnerability remediation.

  • Platform Speed Increases: A key update to the database infrastructure resulted in significant speed increases across the platform, making the overall experience faster and more responsive.

  • Password Reset Overhaul: We completely overhauled the password reset process, simplifying it to make it easier for users to regain access to their accounts quickly and securely.

  • CVE Enhancement: We engineered in the Microsoft CVE database to run alongside the NVD data meaning that users not only got more accurate CVE information, but we also wrote our own bespoke methodology to improve CVE matching too!

Where is release 169? We haven't publicly announced release 169 yet, mainly because it was a smaller  release that focused on some bug fixes. You can see the full ticket list here for those who are interested.
